'Mask Girl' Casting Stories Get Revealed

A week after the release of "Mask Girl," director Kim Yong Hoon sat down with Elle Korea and dished out his thoughts on his latest work.

"Mask Girl" focuses on the life of Kim Mo Mi, an office employee who lives a secret life at night as a broadcast jockey hiding behind a mask.

Her seemingly picture-perfect life takes a dark turn when she becomes the prime suspect in a cold murder case.

Kim Yong Hoon didn't like the idea of looking "unnatural" with heavy makeup, so he split the role to the deserving actresses who can portray the nuances and different personalities of Kim Mo Mi.

"I look back and I am certain that it's the best decision I've ever made in this show," Kim Yong Hoon shared.

Truth to be told, many viewers are satisfied with the casting of the three actresses, especially with the nonlinear narration and the past-present pacing in the show.

Go Hyun Jung, Nana and Lee Han Byul, who made her debut with "Mask Girl," all feel honored portraying the three different Kim Mo Mis.
