‘My Dearest’ Episode 9: Namgoong Min Returns to Joseon
"My Dearest" episode 9, focuses on Namgoong Min's return to Joseon as he fulfills his promise to Ahn Eun Jin. However, he was welcomed by surprising news regarding her soon-to-be wedding.
Helmed by "The Veil" director Kim Sung Yong and "Joseon Attorney" Lee Han Joon, "My Dearest" is a two-part historical K-drama that depicts the story of a mysterious warrior named Lee Jang Hyuk (Namgoong Min), whose only concern is surviving the war. However, amid a tumultuous era, he meets a fearless noblewoman named Yoo Gil Cha (Ahn Eun Jin).
As the duo gets closer, they realize that they have fallen for each other but were caught up in a chaotic time.
Apart from Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin, "My Dearest" also includes Lee Da In as noblewoman Kyung Eun Ae. She is one of the closest friends of Gil Chae and the wife of Nam Yeon Jun, played by Lee Hak Joo, who is Gil Chae's longtime crush.
As the episode nears its finale, things get intense between the duo as well as the crisis during the Joseon War.
'My Dearest' Episode 9 Recap
Aired on September 1, "My Dearest" episode 9 focuses on Yoo Gil Chae's survival after her hometown got run down by intruders. All their possessions, including expensive silks, porcelains, and accessories, were all wiped out.
Due to this, people were starving and had no access to possible resources.

Thankfully, Yoo Gil Chae knew exactly what to do. She asked the officer who saved them from the island, Goo Won Moo, if they could make brass bowls and sell them to a different town. To do this, she sold her yard textiles in exchange for coins, which they would melt to mold brass bowls.
Unfortunately, in hopes of making money out of it, Madam Bang Doo's husband, who is responsible for selling the bowls, got robbed, which left Gil Chae devastated.
Instead of mopping, she found a way to bounce back and was able to make money out of the ginger that the intruders were buying at triple the price.
Due to her closeness with officer Goo Won Moo, rumors sparked that they were in a relationship. Until one day, Gil Chae was surprised that Goo Won Moo proposed to her.
Initially, she wanted to decline the offer but was surprised by Goo Won Moo's revelation.
The officer said that the man for whom he was waiting, referring to Lee Jang Hyuk, was dead, leaving Gil Chae with no option but to marry her.
Little did he know that Lee Jang Hyuk was about to return to Joseon.
In the last scene, Lee Jang Hyuk and Goo Jam came back together with the Crown Prince.
As he entered the village, people were talking about the upcoming wedding of a noblewoman.
He was surprised to see that it was Yoo Gil Chae. On the other hand, Gil Chae was stunned to see Lee Jang Hyuk alive.
