Lee Jae Wook is finally making his much anticipated comeback to the home theater with the upcoming historical romance drama "Hong Rang."

This September, it was confirmed that Jo Bo Ah, Kim Jae Wook, Jung Ga Ram, Park Byung Eun and Uhm Ji Won will join the ensemble to complete the final cast lineup.

On September 20, Lee Jae Wook, Jo Bo Ah and more were confirmed to star in the brand new historical drama "Hong Rang."

Based on the novel of the same name, "Hong Rang" follows the mystery romance drama about a merchant's daughter and a man born through surrogacy.

The series doesn't only introduce a star-studded cast but also an impressive crew. "Hong Rang" will be directed by "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" director Kim Hong Seon.

Meanwhile, Lee Jae Wook, who dominated Hallyu with his presence in "Alchemy of Souls," plays the role of Hong Rang. A son of Shim Yeol Guk who was born through surrogacy.

He goes missing for 12 years after bearing a secret he couldn't tell the world. On the other hand, Jo Bo Ah of "Destined With You" stars as Jae Yi, a woman who desperately searches for her half-brother Hong Rang.

Jae Yi is a woman who possesses a delicate charm. She falls in love with Hong Rang, who returns after 12 years, even though she suspects him to be fake.

Attention is given to the two actors, thanks to their awe-inspiring performances in their recent dramas "Alchemy of Souls" and "Destined With You."

Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah are expected to give a heart fluttering romance through the new novel-based Netflix show despite its unconventional narrative.

Jung Ga Ram, Uhm Ji Won & More Join 'Hong Rang'

To complete the main ensemble, veteran stars Jung Ga Ram, Uhm Ji Won and more also join the brand new series.

Shim Yeol Guk's adopted son Moo Jin will be played by Jung Ga Ram. He replaces Hong Rang's place after the other goes missing.

He will present an intense love triangle to the viewers as he shakes up Jae Yi's heart by confronting Hong Rang who returns to his family years later.

Park Byung Eun plays merchant Shim Yeol Guk, Hong Rang and Jae Yi's biological father who possesses a cold heart and greed for his own ambitions.

His wife, Min Yeon Eui, who will do anything to find her son Hong Rang will be played by Uhm Ji Won of the offbeat series "Little Women."

Lastly, Kim Jae Wook assumes the role of Prince Han Pyeong. He is the king's only brother who has no interest in the politics of the palace.

With the addition of the veteran stars, "Hong Rang" is expected to showcase a colorful drama infused with intense drama elements, betrayal and even action. It will be available on Netflix in early 2024 so stay tuned for more updates.
