'The Killing Vote' Episode 7 Recap

The 7th episode began with the background story of the incident involving Professor Kwon Seok Joo's daughter, Na Rae. The story shed light on Lee Min Soo and his family's connection with the crime and what pushed Kwon Seok Joo to murder Byun Woo Taek.

At the young age, Lee Min Soo is showing obsession over Kwon Seok Joo, who is a well-loved professor and writer. Being their neighbor, Min Soo would often see the professor having a good time with his one and only daughter.

Unfortunately, this sparked jealousy and made him do bad things. First, he killed Na Rae's dog and hid its body, which made the young girl worried about her pet.

For days, she has been looking for her pet and has asked her dad to find their dog.

As for Lee Min Soo, he made Byun Woo Taek, a mentally-challenged teen who is living in their house, his accomplice. Byun Woo Taek lured Na Rae to come with him, only to trick her into thinking they had her dog.

The next day, Kim Mu Chan learned about Na Rae's disappearance. Shortly after, they discovered the young girl's dead body. Initially, Kwon Seok Jo became the prime suspect after videos of him showing his closeness to students leaked on the internet.

Kim Mu Chan helped Seok Joo clear his name by gathering evidence that would support the claim that he is not a suspect. He managed to get hold of a video showing Na Rae with Byun Woo Taek. After the court hearing, the rulings were in favor of Byun Woo Taek, saying that he is innocent.

The result made Kim Mu Chan mad but she couldn't do anything about it.

On the other hand, Kwon Seok Joo came across Byun Woo Taek in their neighborhood and apologized for what had happened.

However, Kwon Seok Joo was stunned to hear a recording of her daughter on Byun Woo Taek's phone. This made the professor kill the teen, whom he thinks murdered his daughter.

Fast forward to the present time: Kim Mu Chan, Kwon Seok Joo, and Lee Min Soo unexpectedly meet each other.

At this point, Seok Joo recalled his encounter with the assemblywoman's son.

He also told Kim Mu Chan his observations about Lee Min Soo then and now, hinting that he might be Gaetal.
