The long wait is over as Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung's "Arthdal Chronicles 2" finally released its newest episode.

Although the drama finally took over its original time slot, it saw a decline in its popularity due to the previous scheduling changes. Read to know more.

'Arthdal Chronicles 2' Sees Decline In Popularity

"Arthdal Chronicles 2," which received positive feedback despite a risky cast change, experienced a sharp decline in popularity.

Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung's drama dropped the sixth episode on September 23 and recorded a 2.2% nationwide score, far lower than its previous episodes.

Sadly, this was caused by the release of two episodes in one night. The drama then had a long runtime airing past midnight, resulting in a skewed audience and ratings.

It didn't air until October 8 due to the Chuseok holidays and the Asian Games which coincided with its time slot, taking away viewers' rights to watch "Arthdal Chronicles 2."

The two-week break greatly affected the show's popularity and scores as the continuous schedule changes took a toll on the viewers' interest despite only having six episodes left.

Even when the recent episode ended on a highly exciting note, "Arthdal Chronicles 2" has lost its momentum.

'Arthdal Chronicles 2' Finally Drops New Episode

"Arthdal Chronicles 2" released episodes 7 and 8 consecutively on October 8 to avoid the games that were held the previous night.

The new episodes receive an average score of 3.2% which was 1.1% higher than the accumulated scores in the previous weeks.

With this, "Arthdal Chronicles 2" slowly regains its momentum, much to the loyal viewers' delight. As it takes back its original time slot, it's expected that the work continues to skyrocket and retrieve the popularity it lost during the rescheduling fiasco.

In particular, the four remaining episodes will center on Lee Joon Gi's characters Eunseom and Saya's plans in taking over the Aramun.

His romance with Shin Se Kyung's Tanya is also one of the things to anticipate from the work so don't miss its upcoming episodes this weekend.
