Choi Hyun Wook Addresses Smoking Scandal

On October 23, the cast of the new drama "High Cookie" attended a press conference to greet the fans.

Choi Hyun Wook, who is among the lead actors, was present at the said event along with Nam Ji Hyun, Jung Da Bin and Kim Mu Yeol.

"High Cookie" is a thrilling drama that tells the stories of elite high school students who are swallowed up by a dangerous handmade cookie that makes people's dreams come true.

The drama marks Choi Hyun Wook's second comeback this year, following the success of "Twinkling Watermelon." In addition, it also celebrates his first project with Nam Ji Hyun.

On the other hand, the event gained attention as it was Choi Hyun Wook's first official appearance since the smoking scandal earlier this October.

The actor bravely addressed the issue and expressed his remorse, saying that he deeply reflected on his actions through the guidance of his managers, loved ones and fellow stars.

He once again apologized for causing distress to the fans and also promised to do better. Choi Hyun Wook asked the public to tune in to the new drama by hinting about his character.

"My character doesn't have a lot of screen time," Choi Hyun Wook shared. "As the story progresses, fans will be able to see more of him and his hidden desires within."

Praises For Choi Hyun Wook's Performance

Not only his fans but also the "High Cookie" cast and crew are in awe of Choi Hyun Wook's acting.

In the series, the actor transforms into Ho Soo, a calm and reserved character. Unlike his characters in his previous works, he's more serious than vivacious.

Director Song commended Choi Hyun Wook's dedication, revealing that the young star even carefully studied his character to perfect his mannerisms, movements and other small details.

In addition, Nam Ji Hyun, the actor's co-star, also noted that he is the "king of improvisation" which impressed the cast and crew of the show.

"He has a huge control of his character," Nam Ji Hyun shared. "I can feel that he's really passionate about his work."
