Ji Chang Wook talked about his upcoming projects and his desire for change.

After wrapping up his recent K-drama "The Worst of Evil," the 36-year-old star reflected on the projects he wanted to be in and the upcoming series that he would be headlining in the coming year.

In addition, he also mentioned the realization he had after filming the Disney+ series.

Ji Chang Wook's Honest Thoughts on 'The Worst of Evil'

In an interview obtained by Star News, the actor spoke about what made him decide to join "The Worst of Evil." According to him, it was not for the action-packed scenes but for his curiosity about the noir genre.

Other than that, he also trusted his co-stars, especially directors Park Geun Beom and Han Dong Wook.

Ji Chang Wook didn't hide the fact that he had some worries about headlining "The Worst of Evil" because of the senior actors that he was working with.

"I was worried about whether we would be able to show our depth, but at some point I stopped doubting it," he said, adding, "We had our own atmosphere and my teammates helped me, so I believed that our own colors would definitely come out."

In the recently-concluded K-drama, Ji Chang Wook took on the role of undercover agent Park Joon Mo, whose assignment was to infiltrate one of Gangnam's biggest gangs, led by Jung Ki Chul, played by Wi Ha Joon.

For the whole season, viewers not only witnessed the action-packed episodes but also the versatility of the cast and the depth of the story.

The 36-year-old top star took a break from doing romance series when he started working on "The Worst of Evil." He said that he filmed intensely with his team members and acknowledged that it was a good comeback to action.

Moreover, he also mentioned the 2016 action-crime K-drama "The K2," where he showcased his talent for the intense action genre.

"Actually, after the work 'THE K2', I had many painful and difficult memories as there were many action scenes," he said.

Due to this, Ji Chang Wook left a promise to himself, which is "not to take action."

"It was physically difficult," the actor got honest and added, "but because it was a series, the overall flow of the story, the character build-up, and maintaining tension were difficult," he explained.

Eding 2023 with another series, Ji Chang Wook is in the middle of filming his next K-drama, "Welcome to Samdalri."

Hinting about what to expect in the romance-life drama, he said that viewers will see "a completely different side" of himself in the series.

"It would be more feel-good and lively compared to 'The Worst of Evil,'" the actor added, as obtained by MBN.

Other than "Welcome to Samdalri," he has back-to back projects in 2024. This includes the K-movie "Revolver" and the K-drama "Queen Woo."

Ji Chang Wook confessed that he is a bit overwhelmed by his schedule, but what makes him feel motivated is the premise of the stories.

"As I read the scripts, I kept wanting to work," he said, showing enthusiasm for his upcoming works.
