Park Bo Young Reveals Regret During ‘Strong Girl Namsoon’ Cameo
Park Bo Young recalled her experience filming her scenes for "Strong Girl Namsoon" as she returned for a cameo role. Reprising her role as Do Bong Soon, the actress was joined by her co-star Park Hyung Sik, who returned as Ahn Min Hyuk.
In an interview with a news outlet, Park Bo Young talked about her special appearance.
Park Bo Young Shares Thoughts on Her 'Strong Girl Namsoon' Cameo
According to the actress, she was overwhelmed with the positive responses that she got after appearing in the JTBC spin-off.
Park Bo Young said she was thrilled after getting the offer for a cameo role, even if she only needed to appear in one episode.
"I'm glad that Do Bong Soon did well and is doing season 2. But she only had one special appearance. I thought a lot about what to do with her."
In the said scene, Do Bong Soon appeared as Kang Nam Soon's cousin, who was played by Lee Yoo Mi. As seen in the spin-off, "Strong Girl Namsoon" highlighted Do Bong Soon and Ah Min Hyuk's marital status.
Interestingly, the actress also revealed that she and Park Hyung Sik talked about doing ad libs and "overdoing" some parts of their scenes.
"By my standards, I overdid it even more than I did in 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.'"
Park Bo Young is referring to her term of endearment for Park Hyung Sik's character.
"There was no nickname 'Minmin' in the script. I added nicknames and TMI lines here and there because I thought they would be happy to see us."
As mentioned, the episode showcased her sweet chemistry with Park Hyung Sik after they returned as a couple in the JTBC spin-off.
However, Park Bo Young admitted that she thought that it was too much for Do Bong Soon's appearance.
"But (after filming) I went home and regretted it. I guess I went too far."
"Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" was one of the hit K-dramas in 2017, and after six years, JTBC released a spin-off featuring new characters and stories.

"Strong Girl Namsoon" featured Lee Yoo Mi, Kim Jung Eun, and Kim Hae Sook as the three generations of women who harbor superhuman strength, just like Do Bong Soon.
The JTBC spin-off also stars Ong Seung Woo as Nam Soon's love life, while the antagonist Ryu Shi Oh is played by Byeon Woo Seok.
What's Next for Park Bo Young?
As for Park Bo Young, she starred as Jung Da Eun in the webtoon-based K-drama "Daily Dose of Sunshine."
Aired exclusively on Netflix, she worked alongside Yeon Woo Jin, Jang Dong Yoon, and Lee Jung Eun as she took on the role of psychiatric nurse.
Prior to this, Park Bo Young joined the cast of "Concrete Utopia" with Lee Byung Hun and played the on-screen wife of Park Seo Joon.
Viewers can expect to see more of Park Bo Young in 2024 after she is selected to headline the rom-com "Melo Movie" with Choi Woo Shik.
