tvN's upcoming historical K-drama, "Sejak: Charmed Deceit," starring Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung, is gearing for its release.
After the broadcast network officially announced the two stars joining the series, tvN released a glimpse of its first script reading.
tvN Unveils 'Sejak: Charmed Deceit' Script Reading
Showcasing the cast members' fantastic synergy during their first meeting, the upcoming K-drama created excitement as the sneak peek featured lead stars Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung taking on challenging roles.
Other than the duo, the "Sejak: Charmed Deceit" cast includes Lee Shin Young and Park Ye Young, who also play as the main characters.
Meanwhile, giving additional excitement are the supporting cast members, Jo Sung Ha, Yang Kyung Won, Jung Suk Yong, and more.
Slated to hit the small screens in January 2024, "Sejak: Charmed Deceit" is penned by "The Crown Clown" screenwriter Kim Sun Deok and directed by Jo Nam Gook of "Untouchable" and "The Good Detective."

The upcoming historical series depicts the tragic love story between King Lee In, played by Jo Jung Suk, who is facing a challenging situation as he struggles to protect his status and political power.
Meanwhile, he meets Kang Hee Soo, portrayed by Shin Se Kyung, who attempts to seduce him as her form of revenge.
However, things unexpectedly took a full turn after she is the one who got seduced instead.

Jo Jung Suk, Shin Se Kyung Share Thoughts on New K-drama 'Sejak: Charmed Deceit'
In news obtained by a media outlet, officials hinted at what to expect in the upcoming K-drama. The actors showcased passionate performances that would surely raise tension between other characters.
In addition, drama officials said that the ad-libs added fun-filled laughter to the scene.
Jo Jung Suk expressed his excitement for his K-drama comeback.
"As I was reading, my expectations grew. I thought that all I had to do was work hard. I thought that all I had to do was do well."
The same goes for female lead star Shin Se Kyung, who mentioned that she gets excited as soon as the story unfolds.
"As I read the story with the actors, I felt the story became more lively and my expectations grew."
"Sejak: Charmed Deceit" is Jo Jung Suk's return to the small screen after the 2021 medical K-drama "Hospital Playlist" season 2, where he took on the iconic role of Lee Ik Joon, the passionate and funny doctor at Yulje Medical Center.
Meanwhile, Shin Se Kyung wrapped up the highly anticipated sequel, "Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun," with Lee Joon Gi. She portrayed the role of Tan Ya.
