‘Weak Hero 2’ To Hit Netflix? Here’s What We Know So Far

After the outstanding performance of Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook and Hong Kyung in "Weak Hero Class 1" in 2022, the viewers have shown massive interest in the work's new installment.

Earlier this 2023, the production unit of the work is coming back for Season 2 to satisfy the fans, and deliver a fresh story that sends everyone to the edge of their seats.

What's more exciting is that the new season is coming to the screens through Netflix.

'Weak Hero 2' To Debut On Netflix This 2024

Since its release in 2022, "Weak Hero Class 1" has dominated the charts and received rave reviews among viewers, thanks to its unconventional plot and the cast's chemistry.

It also bagged numerous awards from prestigious ceremonies in the past year with Park Ji Hoon earning a nod as the Best New Actor at the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards.

With this, the demand for a second season doubled. Thankfully, the "Weak Hero Class 1" team received the green light. As of now, Season 2 is underway.

In addition, it was also announced that the series will "transfer" streaming platforms from Wavve to Netflix due to the management's difficulty in funding original content.

In the past year, Wavve had an operating loss of 121.7 billion KRW (approx. 94 million USD). While unusual, this means that the series will be more accessible to viewers around the world.

On the other hand, there's no reason for Netflix to reject the franchise as "Weak Hero Class 1" hit the box office. With this, fans can expect to stream Season 2 on Netflix some time next year.

Park Ji Hoon Selects 'Weak Hero Class 1' As Most 'Enduring' Work

Park Ji Hoon took on the titular role in "Weak Hero Class 1" and this time, he's coming back for Season 2.

The show focuses on the life of a feeble-looking student who uses his brain and strategical ability to take down the bad guys inside and outside of their school.

In the series, the idol-actor transformed completely into Yoon Si Eun, seamlessly synchronizing with his character.

"Playing Yoon Si Eun was scary but it was a risk I wanted to take," Park Ji Hoon stated. Prior to filming, he did a lot of research in order to perfectly portray his character, which glady paid off.

Park Ji Hoon selects "Weak Hero Class 1" as his most challenging role so far, both physically and mentally. Thanks to his hard work, he was named as Best New Actor of 2022.
