Lee Jung Jae Makes Meaningful Donation To Film Industry

On November 30, the Korean Senior Filmmaker Association announced that "Squid Game" starrer Lee Jung Jae recently made a heartfelt donation to the organization.

For decades, Lee Jung Jae showed his improved acting through the years which he honed as he took on many challenges as an actor.

Despite peaking in his career, the actor didn't forget to look back and show his gratitude to the people who helped him achieve his goals.

"The seniors dedicated their youth to movies. They are now living with illness," Lee Jung Jae shared his intent with his donation. "As a junior who enjoyed their afterglow, I want to give back and show my grateful heart to them."

Lee Jung Jae donated a whopping 50 million KRW (approx. 39,000 USD), including the grand prize amounting to 20 million KRW (approx. 15,000 USD) that he received at the 13th Beautiful Artist Awards in October.

In addition, he also gave out 30 million KRW (approx. 23,000 USD) worth of instant noodles and rice and black bean noodles with minced meat, and 5 million KRW (approx. 4,000 USD) worth of massage equipment to the organization.

Throughout the years, Lee Jung Jae has shown significant range as an artist through his amazing filmography including "The Housemaid," "Sandglass," "The Face Reader" and more.

In the past year, he contributed to the massive globalization of South Korean cinema after bagging an Emmy for his outstanding performance in the mega hit drama "Squid Game."

At the moment, Lee Jung Jae is preparing for its second installment after reprising his role. The new season is scheduled to be released in early 2024 so stay tuned for more updates.

On the other hand, Lee Jung Jae also showed great work in his directorial debut with "Hunt," making him one of the most successful and influential stars in Hallyu.
