Han Suk Kyu Transforms Into Korea’s Best Profiler in New Drama ‘The Intimate Traitor’
Han Suk Kyu is back in K-dramaland as the award-winning actor is confirmed to headline the upcoming series "The Intimate Traitor."
After being in talks to play the lead role, the 59-year-old star confirmed his appearance, and will transform into Korea's best profiler.
Han Suk Kyu New Drama: Actor Stars in MBC's 'The Intimate Traitor'
From teacher Kim Sa Bu in "Dr. Romantic" trilogy, Han Suk Kyu takes on yet another challenging role as he portrays the role of Jang Tae Soo, the best criminal profiler in South Korea.
Moreover, he juggles his busy schedule by raising his only daughter alone.

As mentioned by a news outlet, "The Intimate Traitor" focuses on Jang Tae Soo's journey as he faces a murder linked to his daughter's secret. He voluntarily begins his career as a criminal behavior analyst at a time when criminal profiling is unfamiliar.
Through his experience and achievements, he manages to gain the respect and trust of the police organization. But for Jang Tae Soo, his number one mission is to protect his only daughter as he struggles to reveal the truth.
The upcoming K-drama is scheduled to start production in March 2024 and air in the second half of the year.
"The Intimate Traitor" will broadcast via MBC. Interestingly, this is also Han Suk Kyu's return to the network after 29 years, since the 1995 K-drama "Hotel."
Furthermore, "The Intimate Traitor" will be a weekend K-drama directed by Song Yeon Hwa of "The Red Sleeve" and "Hunted." It will be penned by Han Ah Young, who won the 2021 MBC Drama Script Contest.
Other than the amazing team behind the upcoming series, "The Intimate Traitor" boasts a production cost of 14 billion KRW, or approximately 10.8 million USD.
The filming will reportedly begin in March next year, and the airing of the K-drama will be in the second half of 2024.
Han Suk Kyu's Upcoming Projects
Best known for his role in "Dr. Romantic" seasons 1 to 3, Han Suk Kyu has made a slew of notable series and movies since his debut.
This includes "Recipe for Farewell," "WATCHER, "The Moon of Seoul," and more.
He also has a lot of achievements under his belt - from the Grand Bell Awards to the Baeksang Arts Awards to the Blue Dragon Awards.
Other than the MBC series, Han Suk Kyu will also headline the upcoming K-drama "When the Day Breaks" and will be joined by Jung Yu Mi, Yeom Hye Ran, Kim Joon Han, Ryu Hye Young, and Lee Hee Joon.
