Park Min Young's 'Marry My Husband' Criticized By Viewers

The brand new Monday and Tuesday series "Marry My Husband" starring Park Min Young is finally making its debut this January.

Previously, viewers focused their attention on Park Min Young's jaw-dropping transformation after losing weight to further immerse herself in her new acting role.

She revealed that she endured her "diet" by only drinking ion drinks during the filming. While her efforts are commendable, K-netizens criticized her yet to be released K-drama.

The story of a cheating partner having an affair with a close friend and revenge has been overly used in K-dramas in the past year like JTBC's "Doctor Cha," SBS TV's "The Escape of the Seven" and tvN's "Maestra: Strings of Truth," which is currently on broadcast.

Like "Marry My Husband," the mentioned shows also faced criticisms because of its "cliché" narrative.

What Sets 'Marry My Husband' Apart?

Fans question why Park Min Young chose the series as her comeback project, following the successes of "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?" and "Love In Contract."

Some supporters defend the work, saying that it's appealing enough to be a headliner in prime time. As for its narrative, although it's deemed "cliché," the magical realism could be its compensating nature.

In addition, "Marry My Husband" also stars Hallyu favorites Na In Woo, Song Ha Yoon, Lee Yi Kyung, Lee Gi Kwang and more.

Park Min Young's chemistry with the ensemble is one of the factors to look forward to seeing in the work. With that said, it's still one of the most awaited works in the first quarter of 2024.

Furthermore, "Marry My Husband" airs for the first time on January 1 at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN. It will also be available for worldwide streaming on Amazon Prime Video so don't miss it.
