Lee Sun Kyun's last interview talked about his great love and passion for acting.

A media outlet, News Magazine Chicago, did an interview with the "Parasite" star two months before his passing.

Released on December 27, the outlet unveiled the last official interview of the late Lee Sun Kyun, which was filmed in downtown Chicago.

At that time, he was invited to the Asian Pop-Up Cinema to receive the Award for Excellent Achievement in Film.

In addition, the interview was also amid the actor's battle with drug allegations.

Lee Sun Kyun's Last Interview

As obtained by a local media outlet, the actor told News Magazine Chicago of his great love for acting.

Lee Sun Kyun, who has been in the industry for over 20 years, expressed how satisfied he was with how his career had progressed over the years.

According to him, "It's gone much better" than what he thought, and he was very thankful for the recognition he got from the award-winning movie "Parasite."

"I experienced things I couldn't have even dreamed of back then. I got to go to the Academy Awards and even won an award [for Parasite], and I received applause from Hollywood celebrities."

Moreover, he described the feeling as "very fulfilling" and felt "like a dream" for him.

Other than this, the 48-year-old star also dished on his driving passion in life, which was acting. He saw acting as not just a project but something that he wanted to "well" deliver with great results.

"In the past, I thought it was homework that was constantly given to me. I'm not a systematic person, so I don't review beforehand, but I aspire to do my homework well."

In addition, he also described acting like a "diary" to him, where he could happily look back at the things he has received and done in the past.

"I contemplated a bit today, and receiving this award feels like another page in the diary, piled up. So, when I look back, I can think, 'So far, what I've done isn't so bad. I've worked hard," he said, adding that the new journey means "another diary entry."

Lee Sun Kyun Revealed Plans

The award-winning actor was set to reprise his role as Go Se Won in the webtoon-based K-drama "Dr. Brain" season 2. However, Apple TV+ suspended the production of the upcoming series because of the actor's involvement in a drug controversy.

In Lee Sun Kyun's last interview, he mentioned receiving recognition at the Asian Pop-Up Cinema and expressed his thoughts about "not giving up and consistently working hard."

Moreover, he also mentioned starring in more projects and wanting to "continue creating one character after another in each work."

Lee Sun Kyun was found unconscious in a vehicle at a park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on December 27. It was after his wife, Jeon Hye Jin, reported to police that he was missing after finding out what appeared to be a suicide note.

Celebrities like Lee Sung Min, Kim Nam Gil, Jeon Do Yeon, Ha Jung Wo, Lee Jung Jae, Jo Jung Suk, and more were spotted at his funeral held at the Seoul National University Hospital in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
