After a wave of stars temporarily bid goodbye to fulfill their duties in the country, the public awaits the return of Korean actors who are expected to make a comeback after their military discharge.

From K-pop stars to drama actors, viewers are highly anticipating the upcoming projects in store for these celebrities, but for now, here's a list of Korean actors who are expected to be officially discharged from service in 2024.

Kang Tae Oh

At the height of his popularity, thanks to the hit K-drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," Kang Tae Oh announced his enlistment.

During his fan meeting, the actor confirmed that he would join mandatory military service on September 20, 2022.

After months of spending time doing service, a photo of Kang Tae Oh circulated on the internet showing his bulked-up physique.

On the other hand, he is expected to be discharged in March 2024.

Yoo Young Jae

The B.A.P. member and actor Yoo Young Jae joined the list of stars who joined the mandatory military service in 2022.

Officially enlisted on November 8, he posted a group photo with B.A.P. along with a message expressing gratitude to fans who have shown their support.

"Thanks to all of you, I was really happy in the 10 years following my debut, and I think that because of that, I spent [those 10 years] trying to become a better person."

The singer-actor also assured fans to return "in good health 18 months later" and promised to show good music and drama.

As for Yoo Young Jae, he is expected to have his military discharge on May 7, 2024.

Nam Joo Hyuk

The "Start-Up" star started his enlistment on March 20, 2023, and was accepted into the Military Police Force after completing five weeks of training.

Nam Joo Hyuk's agency, Management SOOP, told Star News that he was assigned to the department's 32nd Infantry Division.

Interestingly, his last K-drama before enlistment was "Vigilante," where he starred alongside Yoo Ji Tae, Kim So Jin, and Lee Joon Hyuk.

While the public expects his return to civilian life in September 2024, reports noted that he is set to appear in the upcoming K-drama "Here," with a star-studded cast featuring Han Ji Min, Shin Min Ah, Lee Byung Hun, and Bae Sung Woo.

Ong Seung Wu

Before the release of the hit spin-off "Strong Girl Kang Nam Soon," Ong Seung Wu enlisted as an active-duty soldier on April 17, 2023.

The singer-actor shared a heartfelt message on his fan cafe as he spoke about joining the military service.

"I am enlisting while carrying your precious and valuable hearts that you've sent my way through posts that you have posted since the news of my enlistment and the support you gave me since last night."

In addition, Ong Seung Wu also shared his new look for enlistment on Instagram, where he dons a buzz-cut hairstyle.

He is expected to return to civilian life on October 16, 2024.
