'Running Man' Episode 688: Mainstays and Guests Travel to Joseon Dynasty for Their Fun Segment
In the new episode broadcast of "Running Man" aired on January 21, Ji Suk Jin delighted fans as he might have his much-awaited comeback in the show.
The episode is said to have recorded an average viewership rating of 2.8 percent based on the data released by Nielsen Korea. "Running Man" also secured the top spot in its time slot for entertainment shows.
"Running Man" Episode 688 was a special segment which is titled "Is This a Reward I'm Satisfied With?" featuring Kim Dong Hyun, Hong Jin Ho, and Jonathan. The cast and celebrity guests are also in anticipation of Ji Suk Jin's potential comeback in the upcoming episode of the show, but they had to complete a royal banquet first.
The mainstays and the guests dressed and transformed into characters from the Joseon Dynasty, Yoo Jae Suk as Yoo Geo Ji, Yang Se Chan as Yang Se Ja, Song Ji Hyo as Song Sa To, and Kim Jong Kook as Kim Hug Ung.
During the segment, Kim Jong Kook particularly mentioned the popularity of the 'Loveable' challenge in Thailand and Japan. Song Ji Hyo, who was unaware of the trend expressed her surprise.

In response to her reaction, Yoo Jae Suk funnily suggested that she should try the challenge, causing laughter among everyone.
Back to the competition race, the teams were divided with beggar Yoo Jae Suk, slave hunter Hong Jin Ho, foreign envoy Haha, and slave Kim Dong Hyun in one team, and the other group, they are composed of Song Ji Hyo as magistrate, Kim Jong Kook as concubine, Yang Se Chan as crown prince, and Jonathan as a scholar.

While doing the mission, Ji Suk Jin made a surprise appearance through a video call. He hilariously commented on his co-members' appearances and made everyone laugh with his humor. The veteran TV personality wittily responded that since it was just his voice being heard, it would only amount to a radio appearance fee, adding fun to the atmosphere.

Meanwhile, before the call concluded, Yoo Jae Suk said goodbye to Ji Suk Jin and commented "See you next week," which raised expectations for the next week's broadcast.
