Choi Kang Hee Gives Glimpse of Her Life Outside Showbiz

In the January 20 episode of the talk-variety show "Point of Omniscient Interfere," the MBC program welcomed actress Choi Kang Hee as their guest. She is known for her dramas "Hello, Me!" "Good Casting," "Protect the Boss," and more.

During her guest appearance, the female star shared that she hasn't been active in acting since three years ago. She told her family that she already wanted to stop, to which her family agreed. As a supportive family, they told her that she could do what she wanted to do.

That's when Choi Kang Hee made a strong decision to permanently exit the glamorous world of show business.

"I changed my phone number and told my manager to stop receiving any scripts and screenplays to look over."

Choi Kang Hee Confesses Working on Multiple Jobs After Deciding to Take Break in Acting

The "Queen of Mystery" actress confessed that despite working for 25 years, she wasn't happy, and wondered what other things she could be good at. And that's when she decided to try out various things.

"My life's motto is 'Those who don't work, don't eat,' So I had to do something." She continued, "I was curious about what else I could do other than being an actress. So I went to school to be a broadcast writer and learned to edit. I even worked a part-time job at a resto, washing dishes."

Choi Kang Hee revealed that she is currently working as a house cleaner for other celebrities, "I am a house cleaner tailored for celebrities. I currently clean their house while keeping strict security measures."

Apart from doing multiple jobs, the female star also launched her own YouTube channel, where she started uploading videos of her daily life outside the industry.

On January 31, Choi Kang Hee posted a video where she shared her day of working as an environmental sanitation worker for a day.

At that time, she was working on a graveyard shift and was seen riding the garbage truck and picking up trash. The actress shared that it is refreshing to work during a time when no one is on the street.

Choi Kang Hee made her acting debut in 1998 through "Sunflower" and "Whispering Corridors." Since then, she received various love calls from different productions which resulted in more than 15 dramas and 10 movies under her belt.

Her latest drama was in 2021 with "Hello, Me!"
