In a report by Nielsen Korea, "Flex X Cop" Episode 8 recorded a nationwide rating of 11.0%, making it the show's all-time high and first time to reach a double-digit viewership.

'Flex X Cop' Episode 8 Recap: Will Jin Yi Soo Uncover the Truth About His Mother's Death?
Following a mind-boggling Eunbu Dong case, Jin Yi Soo, Lee Kang Hyun, and the rest of the crime division team 1 are onto another challenging investigation involving businessman, Choi Seonu.
After digging deep into the murder case, they found out that the death is not associated with suicide but rather a foul play.
In the 8th episode, Jin Yi Soo was able to get hold of the mysterious man who crashed into the murder scene. During the interrogation, they found out that a certain VIP was calling him.
Jin Yi Soo initiated to schedule a meet-up and was stunned to find out the man behind it. It turned out that the "client" of the mystery man was none other than the mayoral candidate. To get more information, he pretended that he had the USB.
Expressing a great fear, the mayoral candidate said that he would ratrher die than get exposed because of the device. Jin Yi Soo was able to figure out the possible location of it, and upon checking, the USB contained private footage of Dr. Seo's patients.
The police were able to crack the code behind the evidence and concluded that Dr. Seo was the possible culprit in Choi Seonu's death. Since she was able to control the minds of her patients, she used this to prevent security head Cho Sung Gu, from leaking the videos.
After killing him, Dr. Seo manipulated Choi Seonu, who used to be her patient, and told him that someone was after him. She instructed him that he needed to hide and not eat or drink any food, pointing out that it might be poison.
Unfortunately, he died due to dehydration.
Meanwhile, Jin Yi Soo used Dr. Seo's hypnosis treatment against her, through Dr. Seo's mentor, Dr. Yoo Myeong Suk. The police were shocked that she voluntarily came to the station and confessed her sins.
She later realized that she was hypnotized, and to get back at Jin Yi Soo, he used his weakness to get the upper hand. Through hypnosis, Jin Yi Soo's past trauma was set to return, and he would now remember the painful death of his mother.
