‘Flex X Cop’ Episode 9: Ahn Bo Hyun Struggles to Accept His Past

Based on the Russian series "Silver Spoon," the Korean adaptation tells the journey of a chaebol's son, Jin Yi Soo, as a detective. Due to an incident, he unexpectedly enters the police force along with team leader Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun).
During the sudden twist in his life, Jin Yi Soo found himself discovering more about his past and present life.
'Flex X Cop' Episode 9 Rating: K-Drama Sees Slight Decline in Viewership
Entering the second half of the season, Ahn Bo Hyun's drama exhibits a decrease in viewership.
In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded an average nationwide rating of 9.3%. A significant decline from its previous episode of 11%, which was also the show's highest rating yet.
Meanwhile, viewers can watch the newest episode through tvN while global viewers can stream it via Disney+, Hulu, and Wavve.
'Flex X Cop' Episode 9 Recap: Did Jin Yi Soo Let His Personal Struggles Get In His Way?
In "Flex X Cop" Episode 9, the story continued with Jin Yi Soo meeting Dr. Seo Yu Kyung, who went under investigation and was convicted of murder. The doctor revealed that she was the one who treated Yi Soo when he was young after a traumatic incident.
She also explained the reason behind his odd dreams, which are connected to his mother.
Here, Jin Yi Soo learned that his mother didn't die in a car crash but because of suicide.
Due to this discovery, he got furious at his father and blamed him for the death of his mother.

Detective Park Jun Young was calling Jin Yi Soo but told team leader Lee Kang Hyun that he was nowhere to be found. Detective Lee then recalled her conversation with Jin Yi Soo about finding out the truth behind the death.
At this point, Kang Hyun thought that he might not continue with his work at the police station.
But that was not the case for Jin Yi Soo.
Showing how dedicated he was to his new work, he didn't let his personal problems get in the way. He helped the team gather evidence that would lead them to the possible culprit.
Their first suspect was manager Woo Sang, who was found covered in blood on the day that Yura died. The suspect was Jin Yi Soo's former classmate, though he confessed that he didn't do it.
Jin Yi Soo also mentioned to Detective Lee that he was not the suspect because he was too smart to commit such a crime that would ruin his reputation.
However, in the last scene, the team found CCTV significant to the case. The video showed senior actress Baek Sang Hee slapping Yura in front of their colleagues.
In addition, her DNA also matched the evidence found in Yura's body.
