Ahn Jae Hong Finally Returns With New Netflix Series

The long wait is over as Ahn Jae Hong is coming back to the spotlight with a brand new Netflix show.

In "Chicken Nugget," the actor transforms into a clumsy yet determined company worker who witnesses his boss' daughter turn into a chicken nugget after entering a mysterious machine.

On March 13, Ahn Jae Hong attended the press conference, and expressed his affection for the production. He said, "I fell in love with the lightheartedness of the drama after reading the script."

He guarantees that "Chicken Nugget" will bring a "pleasurable watching experience that fans have never seen before from other works."

In addition, he made extraordinary efforts in perfecting his role. He visited Aiki, a popular street dancer and choreographer, to learn how to dance, raising expectations to a new level.

In the series, Go Baek Jung, his character, has a huge penchant for music and dance. Fans are certain that Ahn Jae Hong totally perfected the role, thanks to his acting chops.

Lee Byung Hun, the director, is in awe of the actor's dedication. Originally, the director didn't want to give the script to Ahn Jae Hong who's becoming known for his "handsome" characters as a leading man.

However, the director believes that there's no other actor that can seamlessly give life to Go Baek Jung but Ahn Jae Hong. Thankfully, everything worked out for them in the end.

Ahn Jae Hong Reacts To Retirement Memes

Since 2022, rumors about Ahn Jae Hong's retirement have circulated in various online communities. This resurfaced when he appeared in Netflix's "Mask Girl" in 2023.

Earlier this year, Ahn Jae Hong was once again rumored to be retiring after his raunchy romance series "LTNS" with Esom. In a past interview, the actor debunked all retirement rumors.

This time, he transforms into a chicken nugget-loving musician in the brand new Netflix show. Unlike before, Ahn Jae Hong is now expecting retirement rumors to circulate again.

To recall, retirement rumors spread due to Ahn Jae Hong's rather daring and extraordinary roles, making viewers think that it's going to be his final acting project.

"I'm doing a very animated character once again," the actor said. "I changed my speaking tone and manner to synchronize with my role, giving him quite a unique charm."

When asked about his thoughts on becoming a retirement meme, Ahn Jae Hong only said, "They think I'm retiring because I did so well in the project. I'm glad, I'm proud of it."
