Shin Seul Ki Reveals Sudden Increase of Instagram Followers After Starring in ‘Pyramid Game’
Shin Seul Ki's popularity grew after she joined the "Pyramid Game" lineup.
Proving that she is more than just a pretty face, the former reality TV star embraced the glitz and glam of show business by showcasing her talent in acting.
In an interview with a news outlet, Shin Seul Ki dished on her experience in her first K-drama, plans for the industry, and the sudden increase of her social media followers.
Shin Seul Ki Discusses Opportunity to Star in the 'Pyramid Game'
Based on the webtoon of the same name, TVING introduced the psychological thriller "Pyramid Game." It depicts the story of students in an all-girls school, who experience school violence.

Among the rising stars who joined the series was Shin Seul Ki, who played the role of class president Seo Do Ah. In the drama, she was also the moderator of the pyramid game.
According to the actress, she filmed the series for 6 months, and had a fun time working with her co-stars and staff.
"It was an honor to be able to work with many actors, directors, and great staff. I received so much love as the blood, sweat, and tears of many people went into it."
As the series wrapped up its first season, Shin Seul Ki expressed her gratitude for the once-in-a lifetime opportunity.
Despite the "Pyramid Game," Shin Seul Ki displayed dedication for her role, and even underwent a complete transformation to portray the character.
"Many people said that when they saw Do Ah from 'Pyramid Game', they didn't know she was Shin Seul Ki from 'Single's Inferno.' I put in a lot of effort both internally and courageously."
Moreover, she mentioned how "proud and happy" she is that viewers saw her as Seo Do Ah.
To recall, people first knew Shin Seul Ki as the stunning participant in "Single's Inferno" Season 2. During her time on the island, she was able to build a connection with Dex, who is also currently venturing into acting.
According to Shin Seul Ki, it would be amazing if they meet again through a project.

During the interview, she also revealed the audition process that she went through but didn't know that it was for the "Pyramid Game."

According to her, the director asked her to try on wearing glasses, and the next thing she knew, she was offered to play the role of Seo Do Ah.
Interestingly, her character in "Pyramid Game" delighted thousands of fans. She then revealed that her Instagram followers had increased by 300,000, thanks to the K-drama.
As of this writing, Shin Seul Ki's Instagram followers are at 1.3 million and counting.
