Hwang Jung Eum Personally Reached out to the Woman Whom She Mistakenly Labeled as her Husband's Mistress

Hwang Jung Eum continued to make headlines after the actress personally apologized to the non-celebrity woman who was linked to her husband, Lee Young Don. 

The actress, who mistakenly called out the woman as the mistress, contacted the person as soon as the incident gained online attention. 

Hwang Jung Eum Personally Apologized to the Victim Over Instagram DM

In a report cited by Star News, "The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection" star personally apologized to the person through a direct message on Instagram. 

"After wrongfully identifying a non-celebrity woman as the mistress of her ex-husband, Hwang Jung Eum was able to contact her through an Instagram direct message and convey her apologies."

In addition to this, Hwang Jung Eum's agency, Y1 Entertainment, confirmed that the actress did reach out to the person whose name got dragged into her marital woes. 

"She is still in the process of apologizing and is making the utmost efforts for an amicable resolution, including compensation for any damages," the agency added. 

Hwang Jung Eum Was Criticized Due to the SNS Incident

On April 3, Hwang Jung Eum sparked controversy after posting a photo of a non-celebrity woman, along with a derogatory phrase, accusing the person of having an affair with her husband. 

Following this, the actress immediately deleted the post and expressed her apology on Instagram. 

In a lengthy statement, Hwang Jung Eum explained that it was all a "mistake" and clarified that the individual is not related to her or her husband, Lee Young Don. 

Despite the actress expressing how sorry she is for wrongfully accusing an innocent person, the "She Was Pretty" star faced criticism for publicly calling out the woman with no basis. 

The public was disappointed with her action, especially after Hwang Jung Eum included the face and Instagram username of the person, exposing her identity. 

Due to this, the victim received a slew of malicious comments from the actress' fans.

As a result, the women demanded Hwang Jung Eum apologize and warned her to take legal action if she refused. 

The news comes after Hwang Jung Eum officially filed for divorce from Lee Young Don after marrying the pro-golfer turned businessman Lee Young Don and having two kids. 

Despite the divorce proceedings, the actress is still active online, appearing in various K-dramas. 

Among her recent works is the Makjang series "The Escaope of the Seven: Resurrection."
