Kim Soo Hyun's estranged father, singer Kim Chung Hoon, tied the knot over the weekend, but "Queen of Tears" was no show at the wedding.

Kim Soo Hyun Skips Father's Wedding

Kim Soo Hyun's estranged dad, Kim Chung Hoon, and the former Seven Dolphins singer, had a private ceremony on April 13.

In a report, Kim Soo Hyun's father married his longtime partner, Ahn.

Kim Chung Hoon's agency also confirmed the news, saying that the couple got married at the singer's residence in Gangnam, Seoul.

The former Trot singer told the guests how "grateful" he was for Ahn, "who stayed by [his] side even when [he] was nobody."

Moreover, he also looked forward to putting a bridal veil on her, even if it was late.

Other than the family, relatives, and close friends, celebrities who were present at the matrimony were Kim Bum Ryong, Lee Seung Chul, Jo Gap Kyung, Lee Chi Hyun, Seo Geo, Lee Byung Chul, Bae Dong Sung, and Na Kyung Hoon.

However, a report said that Kim Soo Hyun skipped his father's wedding.

There were speculations as to why the top star was MIA at his father's wedding.

In the same report, it was also mentioned that the couple wanted to have an intimate and private ceremony. This might be the reason the actor chose to skip the wedding and give them the privacy that they wanted.

Kim Soo Hyun Fans Disappointed at His Father's Action

Due to the popularity of the tvN drama "Queen of Tears," where Kim Soo Hyun currently stars in, he reportedly doesn't want to cause any trouble that would affect the ceremony.

However, fans called out Kim Soo Hyun's father for using his son's popularity for publicity.

In an online community, netizens flocked to the comments section and expressed their dismay at Kim Chung Hoon for dragging the actor's name again.

Due to this, others defended the "Queen of Tears" star from judgment following his father's wedding.

Kim Chung Hoon later started a new family and had a daughter named Kim Joo Na, who is also a celebrity. During her stint in Mnet's "Produce 101," she garnered the public's attention for being Kim Soo Hyun's half-sister.

On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun's father once mentioned him in one of his interviews. While promoting his album, Kim Chung Hoon said that he hadn't seen his son but planned on having a meal with him.

However, netizens criticized him for using Kim Soo Hyun for his new album.
