The Aug. 30 episode included Park Young-gyu, who reminisced about the death of his only son in an accident 21 years prior.

His family, his wife and daughter among them, organized an outing to a tree farm in an attempt to heal him.

Park's wife explained his grieving during the broadcast. She claimed, "On our son's birthday in November or his death anniversary in March, he would sit alone in the study or seek out alcohol, something he normally wouldn't drink."

Park Young-gyu admitted he had fought as a dad since their daughter entered the family. "My daughter came to our house when she was in elementary school, and six years have passed in the blink of an eye, and now she's preparing for the college entrance exams.

I suddenly felt like I wanted to do something for my child like any other father."

His wife remembered a tearful experience from years ago. She narrated, "It was heartbreaking. I wondered if he wanted to be like other parents. My husband has never been to either my late son's entrance or graduation ceremony."

The family then paid a visit to the arboretum of their deceased son. Standing together there, Park expressed his feelings freely.

He stated, "Today is the first time the three of us are going together, and I'm so happy. I always felt empty when I went alone, but this year, with my family, I feel like I've done everything I needed to do."

The daughter touched him by revealing a figurine of a memory of father and son enjoying tteokbokki.

Park subsequently showed a framed AI-generated portrait of what his son would have looked like as a grown-up. His wife also cooked tteokbokki, the favorite food of the boy.

Touched to tears, Park revealed his love for his daughter. He told us, "(My son, who went abroad to study early) lives far away, so (as a parent) I always feel regretful that I couldn't do much for him. I haven't been able to feel the heartache of having a high school senior.

Looking at my daughter, who is taking the college entrance exam this year, I feel like this is the last (opportunity) in my life."

The show, which also featured other families' stories, achieved a national viewership rating of 4.6 percent based on Nielsen Korea.
