A passing mention of actors Won Bin and Lee Na-young having dinner at a pork rib restaurant has created a buzz, with fans interested in the unusual sighting of the low-key couple.
The issue came to light on Sept. 1 in a video uploaded to actor Ryu Jin's YouTube channel, The Most (Coolest) Ryu Jin.
The video, titled Ryu Jin's Jamsil Apartment Worth 4 Billion Won in 40 Years, featured Ryu Jin and her mother reminiscing about school days as they toured an apartment building for redevelopment.
In the video, Ryu Jin remembered family dinners. She mentioned, "In the past, eating out meant jajangmyeon or pork ribs. On that day, my mom and dad bought me a lot of meat. Sometimes, we had hotel buffets or mothers' gatherings."
She continued to explain her classmates. Ryu Jin stated, I don't know why my mom was there, but there were kids who were first or second in the whole school and kids who were class presidents. They all went to Seoul National University and Yonsei University."
Her mom also spoke about her work as a student. She said, "We still have a meeting of moms from that school. Ryu Jin was in the top 10 at that time. She wasn't a bad student."
Interested in the history of the restaurant, Ryu Jin inquired, "Are there any other celebrities besides me?"
The owner replied boastfully. The owner remarked, "Won Bin and Lee Na-young are here. Kang Jin, who sings 'Ddaengbeol', is also here."
The production team proceeded to throw some humor into the conversation, commenting, "All the foreign actors are here," which brought laughter.
Since Won Bin and Lee Na-young seldom go out in public, the short notice of their visit became headline news immediately.
Netizens responded with shock and laughter, posting comments like, "Won Bin and Lee Na-young's pork rib date is so simple," and "Won Bin eats pork ribs too."
The two, who wed in 2015, have one son. Although Lee Na-young has been a part of various projects of late, Won Bin has not graced the screen with a performance in a film since The Man from Nowhere (2010), perpetuating continued rumors regarding his potential return to acting.
