IU's recent fan meet has gone viral for all the right reasons—due to her touching interactions with disabled fans, which have moved audiences from Korea to the rest of the world.

The 2025 IU FAN MEET-UP "Bye, Summer," which took place at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, was the artist's first major offline event in two years.
The event, attended by more than 30,000 fans over two days, was promoted by EDAM Entertainment as one that would emphasize effective two-way communication.
IU made good on that promise in a dramatic manner. As she performed her song "I Stan U,"
IU departed from the main stage and proceeded up to the second floor, where the wheelchair area was situated.
Instead of targeting only front-row spectators, as is typical in mass events, IU went out of her way to meet every one of the accessible seats' attendees—individually touching hands and smiling at each of them during both nights.
One viewer captured the moment online: "It's so touching...."
Another netizen reacted after viewing the videos. "I saw this in person and for some reason I teared up ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ"
The videos, initially posted by fans on X (formerly Twitter), soon broke the internet. Global fans adored IU's unwavering warmth, and Korean netizens on community board TheQoo filled the posts with tearful comments.

Here are just a few of the most popular comments:
One commenter praised IU's personality. "IU has such a kind heart ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ"
Another expressed admiration for the fans who experienced the moment firsthand. "I'm so jealous, it must be such a good memory for them."
A viewer shared their emotional reaction after watching the clips. "Watching this just made me tear up ㅠㅠ Especially the last pic!! Her warmth was literally visible."
This isn't the first time IU has shown support for fans with disabilities. In 2019, she was widely praised for personally greeting a wheelchair user who couldn't access the fanmeeting stage due to venue limitations.
One of the fans looked back on having missed the opportunity to go to this year's event, commenting, "I'm a wheelchair fan and I've gone to every concert, but I passed on this fancon..... crazy........"
As videos of the exchange continue to circulate, IU's behavior is being used as an example of inclusivity and compassion in the showbiz world.
