One of the most awaited Korean films, 'The First Ride,' has received a mix of reactions from netizens after the release of the trailer. Most of the commentary has to do with its 'eccentric' casting.

An ensemble cast comprises Kang Ha Neul, Kim Young Kwang, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, and Kang Young Seok.
The trailers of the movie feature the actors depicting high school students living through their youth and friendships.
Yet, some netizens were quick to voice skepticism on the actors' ages as far as the believability of the characters.
"They look way too old to play high schoolers," a social media commenter posted, a sentiment that was echoed by many.
Soon, though, fans rushed to explain that the trailer could be deceptive.
One viewer broke down the movie's true plot: "Although there are flash-forward scenes of them in high school, the central plot involves the group of friends reconnecting as adults to take a long-overdue trip overseas."
The movie supposedly traces the lives of four friends who in their younger years had aspired to explore their destinations together but were compelled to delay their plans because of the circumstances in life. Years later, they embarked on the adventure that they had previously envisioned.
One viewer said, "The trailer was edited so it seemed the entire film was taking place in high school, and that's most likely why people were confused."
The fans came to the defense of the cast and crew, pointing out that the narrative revolves around adults, not teenagers.
One netizen wrote, "People are making assumptions without seeing the whole picture. The story is more complex than what's in the trailer."
The movie's marketing campaign has since picked up online, not only for its bankability, but also because of the divisive reactions to its promotion.
A spokesperson from the production company of the film has not yet made a public statement about the criticism.
To date, 'The First Ride' is still one of the most discussed upcoming Korean movies, and the hype—good or bad—has only served to fuel the interest prior to its release.
