Actor Song Seung Heon canceled a planned press interview for his current drama, "My Troublesome Star," upon the death of his mother, Moon Myeong Ok, his agency announced.

On September 21, King Kong by Starship announced in an official statement. "Ms. Moon Myeong Ok passed away at the age of 77," the agency released.
"The wake is being held at Samsung Seoul Hospital Funeral Hall, Room 17, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM KST today."
The funeral ceremony will take place at 9:30 AM KST on September 23. Song, the youngest of three children, is said to be remaining overnight at the wake with his elder brother and sister to welcome condolence visitors.
The actor, who is understood to be a private but kind-hearted individual, had earlier posted a message to his parents on social media.
"Dear Dad and Mom, I'm happy to be your son. Please stay healthy with me for a long, long time just like now. I love you," he posted.
Song Seung Heon is now playing Dok Go Cheol in ENA's Monday–Tuesday drama "My Troublesome Star" with actress Uhm Jung Hwa.
The drama started at a humble 1.3% national rating (Nielsen Korea, national paid-platform households) and has continued to rise, recently breaking 4%. The final episode is on September 24.

A wrap-up interview originally planned for September 25 has been officially canceled, as the actor remains in grief.
The agency requested privacy and compassion during this time. "All funeral procedures will be conducted privately," King Kong by Starship said. "We ask for your warm condolences for Song Seung Heon and his family."
Fans and fellow industry professionals have expressed their sympathies online, praising the actor for continuing his work amid personal hardship.
Song Seung-heon first appeared in the 1990s and has been a household name in South Korea ever since, both on television and in cinema. "My Troublesome Star" is his latest comeback to primetime drama.
