Actress Park Gyu-young looked back on her recent role and opportunity to act in the same film world as fellow veteran actors Jeon Do-yeon and Seol Kyung-gu.

The actress, who appears in the recently released Netflix movie "The Mantis," directed by Lee Tae-seong, had an interview with SPOTV News at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, on Sept. 30, during which she related some stories of the project.
Park portrays Jae-i, a killer trainee, in the action film. She said, 'm a huge fan of the film Gil Bok-soon, so just sharing its worldview is an honor."
When queried if she was following in the footsteps of Jeon Do-yeon's character, Park humblely replied.
She states, "I feel like she's a senior who doesn't even deserve to be mentioned. I'm so grateful. I'm unconditionally grateful just to be able to inherit the worldview that my senior has so well created, and I think it was an honorable project."
Park also remembered scenes on the set where senior actors from the first film, such as Yang Dong-geun and Seol Kyung-gu, were around.
She said, "Actually, I went to the set on the day that Seol Kyung-gu and Yang Dong-geun were filming just to catch a glimpse of their shadows."
She then related a light-hearted anecdote with Seol Kyung-gu. Park recalled, "There was a scene in Season 1 where senior actor Seol Kyung-gu talked about the three rules of a killer, and I did an impression of his voice. I didn't get good feedback. I remember giving him chocolates and wanting to say at least one more thing," provoking laughter.
Asked what he was feeling when he heard Seol's reaction, Park smiled, "He said, 'Oh, I didn't act like that,' but when will I ever meet senior Seol Kyung-gu again? I wanted to leave a strong impression like that."
Opening on Sept. 26, The Mantis depicts a savage battle for power among assassins: master-class killer Samagwi (Im Si-wan), who comes back to a broken world of contract killers after years in battle; his fellow trainee Jae-i (Park Gyu-young); and legendary retired assassin Dokgo (Jo Woo-jin).
