Park Ji Hyun, an actress who appeared in the Netflix K-drama "You And Everything Else," surprised the audience by announcing that she herself bought each of her character Sang Yeon's outfits herself.

The news has since ignited massive buzz on the internet, with many viewers amazed by the extent of her designer shopping list.
As reported by Koreaboo, Park described in an interview how she "couldn't get any sponsorships," a typical experience for pre-produced K-dramas. To authentically act like a rich and affluent woman in her 40s, she therefore had to pay for her own clothes.
In her own words, Park talked about the thought process that went into choosing the clothes.
"I discussed it a lot with the costume team. Styling for her 20s and 30s was important, but I thought her 40s look mattered most. I referenced the fashion of successful women I know. I personally bought various clothes and accessories with my own money—even the suitcase, scarf, watch, and earrings," she said.
The actress confessed that despite the process being costly, she liked the artistic freedom that it provided her.
"I like that kind of detail. Sometimes I wonder if I've gone overboard, but when people tell me I really looked like a woman in her 40s and that the outfits were perfect, I feel proud on the inside," Park added.
She also disclosed that the priciest product she bought was a Patek Philippe Nautilus watch, which costs more than ₩100 million KRW (about $71,000 USD).
I don't wear it now, I just keep it safely," she said, showing appreciation for the high-end product.
Following the interview, Korean netizens discussed her fashion dedication and wealth on TheQoo, where screenshots of her Hermès and Thom Browne looks went viral. One user commented, "Wow, I'm jealous of how rich she must be to afford all that"
Some commenters wondered about her background, suggesting, "She's from a rich family to begin with, so yeah."
Others praised her dedication to authenticity, one commenting, "No wonder the outfits were all so eye-catching. They were all so Sang Yeon coded. Amazing!"
It was reported by Chosun Ilbo that Park Ji Hyun's individual investment was viewed by industry professionals as a daring artistic choice that raised both her performance and visual aspects of the drama.
Her dedication to realism and attention to detail have since attracted much admiration, with fans referring to her as "the definition of dedication" to her work.
