Fifteen years since his last movie, actor Won Bin remains in the spotlight with his long-lasting star power and aura of mystery.

It was recently reported by SPOTV News that Won Bin recently made headlines after being selected as the sole model of a shabu-shabu restaurant brand. He also recently became the endorser of a lifestyle solutions platform earlier this year, two of his significant endorsement contracts in 2025 alone.
Nonetheless, his return to commercials instead of acting has evoked a mixed reaction from fans. Some fans were disappointed, pointing out that Won Bin has not been in a movie or drama since 2010's box office hit, "The Man from Nowhere."
"Almost 15 years is actually the equivalent of retiring from show business," the article added, citing that the majority of celebrities who do long breaks tend to come back earlier. His official website is still out of reach, and recent photos of the actor only surface in commercial advertisements.
Even with the long break, Won Bin has never formally declared retirement. According to the source, he instead remains in the process of considering possible projects. Industry players have speculated that bad working conditions and his perfectionist nature could have been holding him back.
Interest has further been shown in Won Bin's wife, actress Lee Na-young, who every now and then answers queries regarding the career of her husband. In a recent interview, Lee stated, "I'm interested in his return. I'm actively watching his projects, and I get jealous when I see a good one." She further stated jokingly, "I don't know why you keep asking me. He'll come out, right? Just wait a little longer."
Lee also debunked rumors of the couple living a reclusive life. "We live ordinary lives, and we do everything similarly," she said. "I think we're being framed by this vague (mystic) image because we don't know much about it." She also explained that the family lives in the city, with normal routines such as going to the gym.
Whereas other celebrities lose public recall after a span of time outside of the limelight, Won Bin is an exception. His brooding has only served to further pique interest and admiration and further established him as one of Korea's most mysterious but dearly loved actors.
Fans still keep their fingers crossed that Won Bin, now 47, will eventually make a highly anticipated return to the screen — a return that would necessarily be one of the most highly anticipated in Korean cinema.
