Actor Lee Yi Kyung resumed his entertainment activities amidst the recent rumors about his personal life.
On November 1, according to an exclusive report from Xportsnews, the actor joined the latest recording of SBS Plus and ENA's dating reality show "I'm Solo." It is his first time returning to a studio since the beginning of the controversy.
As the report explained, "SSince 'I'm Solo' does not film new episodes every week, this marks Lee Yi Kyung's first studio recording since the rumors emerged."
The controversy started on October 20, when an online user identified as "A" posted allegations of Lee Yi Kyung's private life on a private online channel. The post swiftly spread all over social media, drawing wide attention and speculation.
In response, the actor's agency thoroughly denied the reports and promised to take legal action upon the person who spread the false news. Eventually, a public apology was posted by the original uploader, and for all intents and purposes, the incident was ended.
According to Allkpop, netizens were relieved to see the actor return to work as quickly as possible; many remarked at his professionalism despite the recent controversy.
Aside from his appearance on "I'm Solo," Lee Yi Kyung continues to be active in a number of shows including MBC's variety show "Hangout with Yoo" and E Channel's "Brave Detectives 4." He is also set to appear as a new MC for KBS2's "The Return of Superman," although the first recording has not yet been scheduled.
Meanwhile, "Hang Out with Yoo" did not go on air on November 1 due to special APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit programming. The production staff explained that the temporary pause in broadcast had nothing to do with the recent rumors.
The production team explained, "The hiatus is completely unrelated to Lee Yi Kyung's personal matters. Filming and broadcast schedules will resume next week."
