Veteran actor Kim Eui Sung finally spoke about highly anticipated Season 3 of "Taxi Driver," breaking his silence on the fan theories that have existed over the character and sharing the bond between the actors.
Based on the popular webtoon, "Taxi Driver" is about a secret taxi service that doles out justice to victims whom the legal system failed. Kim Eui Sung reprises his role as Jang Sung Cheol, the head of the Bluebird Foundation and the leader of Rainbow Taxi, who is caught between what is righteous and what is vengeful.
Per Soompi, Kim said that he is surprised by and grateful for the series' longevity.
"When the show first aired, I never imagined it would continue into a third season," he said. "Contrary to many people's expectations that I would eventually betray everyone and reveal a villainous side, I'm deeply moved to still be part of this project as the head of Rainbow Taxi."
He added that the renewed public interest in the show has persisted over time.
"Many around me have been anxiously asking, 'When is Season 3 coming?' and I'm truly delighted that we can finally present it."
When asked about the ongoing "CEO Jang is a villain" rumors, Kim addressed them with humor and sincerity.
He joked, "I don't know what kind of life I must have led for you to still not believe me," before adding, "Please, trust me. Jang Sung Cheol is a righteous man."
According to Naver, Kim also praised his co-stars for their close camaraderie which has lasted even after several seasons.
He said, "It's amazing that the five members have stayed together unwaveringly all the way to Season 3. The affection each of us has for this project is the driving force behind our teamwork."
He concludes by teasing viewers as to what to expect in the new season.
