Public outcry continues to grow against an armed intruder who broke into the home of actress Nana and violently assaulted both her and her mother. Authorities said the suspect justified the break-in by citing financial hardship, an explanation that has intensified backlash across social platforms.
According to reports from AllKpop, the incident occurred around 6 am on November 15 KST at Nana's luxury villa in Acheon-dong, Guri City, which is valued at approximately 4.2 billion KRW ($2.88). A man in his 30s had reportedly climbed a ladder to reach the veranda before entering through an unlocked door.

They explained that the intruder was armed with a weapon and demanded money as soon as he got in. A fight ensued, where Nana's mother was seriously injured and briefly lost consciousness, while Nana received injuries subduing him.

DDespite the difficult circumstances, both Nana and her mother were able to overpower the attacker and deliver him into police custody. While under questioning, the suspect claimed, "I didn't know a celebrity lived there. I broke in because I was short on living expenses."
The comment immediately drew ire from netizens. Users responded, "Whether it's a celebrity's house or not isn't the point," "He broke in with a weapon and knocked someone unconscious—what kind of excuse is that?" and "Blaming it on living expenses? That's not an excuse for attempted robbery."
On November 17, a court issued an arrest warrant based on the flight risk, and the case is being forwarded to prosecutors.
Nana's agency, Sublime, issued a public statement regarding this occurrence. The agency said, "An extremely dangerous situation occurred when an armed robber broke in. Both Nana and her mother could have suffered life-threatening harm."
IIn other news, Nana recently gained attention for a warm moment shared with a close friend amidst her past controversies. IIn the caption of her earlier post, Nana wrote, "Had a great time and felt really happy."
According to Naver, the friend photographed with her was identified as a popular photographer and the post came after her decision in August to pursue legal action against malicious rumors.
Nana wrote, ""I have filed a lawsuit and will respond strongly without leniency. The same goes for the malicious commenters."
