Lee Jun Ho's Superhero Life Hits Rock Bottom in Netflix's Explosive 'Cashero' Trailer

Netflix has released an official trailer for its original Korean series "Cashero," which brings audiences into the world of a rather unconventional superhero, whose physical strength is directly linked to the amount of money in his wallet. Based on a popular webtoon, the series merges action, satire, and social commentary to offer a new take on the classic superhero genre.

Based on details first highlighted by AllKpop, the story is about Sang Ung, portrayed by Lee Jun Ho, a usual white-collar worker fighting the daily monetary pressures of being an adult in this modern world. He's engrossed in familiar aspirations like building up savings for marriage and getting a home mortgage until his life changes upon discovery.

His girlfriend Min Sook, played by Kim Hye Joon tells him, "We need to get married and buy a house. So no more superpowers!"

Early coverage from Allkpop echoed this fact by stating a very unique premise: the strength of Sang Ung increases with the amount of cash he physically carries. There is, however, an economic cost to heroism. Every single time he intervenes to help someone, he has to literally spend his power, turning everyday emergencies into financial decisions.

The trailer also exposes that Sang Ung is not the only one with this strange problem. Ho In, performed by Kim Byung Chul, "can pass through anything if he drinks alcohol." The same goes for Eun Mi, played by Kim Hyang Gi, as her telekinesis requires calorie intake to be activated, adding levity and depth to the expanding cast of superpowered individuals.

Additional context, provided by Soompi, explains that there is also the Mundane Vanguard in the story: an organization ready to do whatever it takes to keep these people and their extraordinary abilities in check. It includes Joanna, played by Kang Han Na, Jonathan by Lee Chae Min, and Jo Won Do by Kim Eui Sung, each adding to the tension Sang Ung experiences in his new reality.

"Cashero" promises not only a high-energy action but also a comedic and thought-provoking look at financial pressure, responsibility, and the value placed on money in society.

Netflix's new series will be released worldwide on December 26. The series will allow viewers to escape from everyday life during the Holiday season to a realistic and immersive experience through a new lens.
