After a past interview in which the actress Go Min Si declared she preferred the girl group New Jeans to the world-famous K-pop group BTS, the actress has recently had to deal with a torrent of negative comments directed at her online.

Following her appearances on Netflix shows "Sweet Home" and "Love Alarm," Go has faced a deluge of hateful and disparaging remarks on her social media accounts. According to an AllKpop report, this backlash relates to a video interview that Go did with DAZED Korea two years ago, and it appears that this interview has entered the public domain again on various social media platforms.
The interview was conducted in a light-hearted manner and at one point the interviewer asked Go a fun question - which group did you like best; BTS or New Jeans? In this video, Go appeared upbeat, happy and enthusiastic.
Upon being asked for her preference, Go emphatically stated "New Jeans" and smiled while saying it. She also spoke positively about the group, recalling her impressions after meeting them. At the time of the interview, the exchange drew little controversy.
However, as the clip gained renewed traction online in recent days, some fans of BTS—collectively known as ARMY—began directing critical and hostile comments toward Go's social media pages, including her Instagram account. According to AllKpop, the responses contained accusations of being rude and seeking clarification even though the interview had been recorded years before.

As this video has been shared online again, it has continued the ongoing struggles between K-pop fans and their beliefs and how easily a misunderstanding or difference in personal opinion may spark arguments between fans on social media.

In this instance, Go gave an informal response during a marketing interview, which some viewers reinterpreted as disrespectful; consequently, those fans began making even more negative comments about her.
As a result, other members of the wider K-Pop community have responded to those commenters by defending the actress and labeling the haters' comments as unnecessary and excessive. Social media users indicated that this particular question lacked objectivity, and therefore, Go's answer reflected her personal opinion rather than an attack on any artist or fandom.
While Go Min Si has not said anything publicly regarding the recent surge of criticism regarding her comments, it has opened up discussions again about public people continuing to do with pressures put on public figures concerning fandoms sensitivity levels.
People have also indicated that the resurfacing of material already out in the public forum but taken out of context long after the fact can often lead to unintended consequences. Currently, there has been no direct comment from Go regarding the controversy; however, conversations concerning fan behaviour and their accountability are drawing attention on many different social networks.
