Actor Chae Jong-hyeop made a monetary contribution of 50 million KRW (approximately $34,554) to support those living with epilepsy by addressing the issues associated with both money and health for these patients.
On January 7, the Korea Epilepsy Association said that Chae's donation would be used to pay for the medical costs of patients who are having trouble and to raise awareness in the public. The group praised the actor's kindness and stressed how important his help has been for people with epilepsy.
Chae, who has epilepsy himself, talked about his experience in 2023 when he publicly explained why he was exempt from military service.
He said that his condition made him a Grade 5 wartime service member. He told AllKpop, "I understand the pain of people living with epilepsy all too well. I hope my small contribution can offer even a little strength and comfort to patients."

The Korea Epilepsy Association thanked him for his help. The organization said, as reported by The Chosun Daily, "His understanding of the hardships faced by epilepsy patients and their families, and his willingness to help, have been a great source of encouragement and strength."
Chae Jong Hyeop started his career in 2016 with a web drama and quickly became well-known for his roles in shows like Hot Stove League, Nevertheless, Shooting Stars, and Castaway Diva.
He became famous around the world for his lead male role in the Korean-Japanese drama Eye Love You, where he acted with Fumi Nikaido.
Chae is getting ready to return to television in MBC's upcoming Friday–Saturday drama "In Your Radiant Season," which will air in the first half of 2026. This is in addition to his work for charity. Fans and the general public have praised the actor for using his fame to raise awareness about epilepsy while also working on his acting career.
