The "Moving" star talked about a tough time in his career when mean comments really got to him on the YouTube channel "Big Hand Noh Hee Young." Ryu stated that he was doing well in business and getting favorable reviews. However, he found it difficult to cope with the harsh comments he read online.

He was honest about how the comments made him feel. "Even if I tried not to read the comments, it was impossible not to see them," per Koreaboo.

Ryu said that negative comments would show up in portal searches, news articles, and posts on online communities, making it hard to avoid all of the criticism. Some people called him "an actor you can't trust" and "an unc actor who ruins movies" at the time, and those comments stuck with him.

Ryu saw that one person on the internet always stood up for him in online forums, even though there were many mean comments. The user would respond to the criticism with messages like "He's not that kind of person," and "Please watch his previous works."

Ryu was curious about who was behind the supportive posts, so he looked up the username and was shocked by what he found. He said that the account belonged to his young son.

He told her how he knew there was a link. "My son's name is Kang, and the ID was 'kang,'" he said, explaining that he knew his son had written the comments because he was in the second or third grade of elementary school at the time.

The realization made him feel many things. Ryu said that he cried when he found out that his child had been defending him online against people he didn't know who were criticizing him.

Ryu is currently in the hit Disney+ show "Moving," where he plays the father of Go Youn Jung's character. In addition to "Moving," he is known for starring in hit movies like "Masquerade," "Miracle in Cell No. 7," and "The Admiral: Roaring Currents."

Koreaboo says that Ryu's story has touched fans, showing how hard it is for famous people to deal with their personal problems and how strong they can be in their families.

In separate news, according to Korea JoongAng Daily, actor Ryu Seung-ryong said he reached "the peak of his filmography" with the 2021 film "Perhaps Love" after 17 years in the industry.

Ryu described the role of a flawed novelist as a breakthrough that helped him overcome limitations in portraying everyday characters. Despite previously starring in 10-million-ticket hits like "Extreme Job," he said box office success no longer pressures him, adding that both triumphs and failures depend on collective effort and timing.
