Daum reported that on April 19, Baek appeared in a video titled "First Reveal! Laughing Search's Baek Bo-ram's Update After 20 Years: She Used to Earn 200 Million Won (is approximately $136,245 USD.) a Month from a Shopping Mall!" posted by the YouTube channel 'Namu Miki Detective Agency' where she updated fans on her life after about 10 years of silence.

Reflecting on her past earnings, Baek said, "I spent all that money. Haven't I been resting for too long?" She added, "I did a few dramas, but they didn't make money, and it has been a long time since I took a break from my shopping mall."

Baek confessed the current state of her finances candidly. "I really have nothing left now. And there are things I used to spend. I lived without thinking, and that's why I'm here today," further stating, "My bank account is currently in the negative."

According to The Chosun Daily, she also explained the challenges that led to closing her shopping mall. Baek said, "With so many large companies emerging, we couldn't compete on price. Trying to match theirs resulted in a loss." She revealed that winding down the business was costly. "The process of shutting it down also cost too much money."

Describing the financial burden during this period, Baek noted, "I incurred significant costs while refunding members and sorting out various matters."

Addressing rumors about her residence in Cheongdam-dong, Baek denied them directly. "I live in a hillside neighborhood," and humorously responded to suggestions about moving by saying, "I have debt on my house, is that okay?"

Baek Bo-ram debuted in 2003 with the group Morning and gained popularity through SBS's "Laughing People" and MBC's "Infinite Girls." She later made headlines as a successful celebrity entrepreneur in the shopping mall sector.

Baek also appeared in dramas like "Pink Lipstick (2010)" and "Love Sings (2013)." She previously ran a successful shopping mall business, Poram, before closing it in 2018.

Currently, she is focused on home shopping channels and has spoken about facing financial struggles after a long hiatus from broadcasting.
