“Man From The Stars” Set Costs 1 Million USD
It has been revealed that the house sets from the SBS drama "Man From The Stars" cost a whopping 1 billion KRW or 1 million USD.
According to representatives from the drama, the houses of the main characters Chun Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun) and Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) are drama sets. Because their homes needed to reflect their different personalities, the production company decided to create the set from scratch.
For a Hallyu star of Chun Song Yi's level, her house was decorated with expensive pink and red pieces that reflect her sassy and feisty persona, and full length mirrors and large pictures covered the walls of her home.
Do Min Joon's house presents a black and white color tone which shows his preference for a clean and simple home. To show the alien's 400 year stay on Earth, his house is decorated with precious pieces that he collected around the world, as well as various authentic artefacts from the enlightenment era which adorned his home.
A special piece showcased in the set is a golden transparent clock, one of the three available in Korea, and it costs 30 million KRW or approximately 28,000 USD.
SBS set decorator Shin Seung Jun shared, "After working for one month to decorate the sets, I was very happy to hear Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun say 'Is this our house? It's amazing' and 'Thank you for creating a beautiful house'."
Meanwhile, singer K.Will lent his voice with the song "Like A Star" for the OST.
