Woody Allen's 28-year-old adopted daughter Dylan Farrow ruffled a few feathers when she published a very candid letter in which she again accused her adoptive father of sexually-molesting her when she was just a child.
The letter, posted in New York Times, enumerated several instances where, when and how she suffered the alleged abuse. Farrow also name-dropped actors who have worked with Allen and asked them to reconsider working with him after what he have done.
It did not sit too well with the former "3rd Rock from the Sun" star Alec Baldwin. He expressed his frustration on twitter: ''What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle? You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue. (sic)''
Cate Blanchett, who recently won a Golden Globe Best Actress Award on her work with Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine offered a hopeful advice when asked by reporter Jeffrey Wells about the issue: "It's obviously been a long and painful situation for the family and I hope they find some sort of resolution and peace."
Star of the hit TV show "Girls", Lena Dunham reposted the letter and asked her follower to read: "to share in this way is courageous, powerful and generous. Please read."
That's not only the open support she got from the media as novelist Sarah Dessen hailed Farrow for being brave. ESPN's Jane McManus, also wrote "Choose your heroes carefully and be willing to let them go." The National Journal's Bruce Arthur also expressed his support by tweeting: "You will never look at Woody Allen the same way. And you shouldn't."
TVDiner producer Jenny Johnson shared the link of Farrow's open letter with a message: "Maybe this will help other victims and convince Hollywood to stop kissing Woody Allen's ass." The Wall Street Journal's Tom Gara went as far as predicting that it is "The end of Woody Allen" on his twitter account.
Following his divorce with Dylan's mother, Mia Farrow, the "Annie Hall" director soon married Soon-Yi Previn, also Farrow's adopted daughter.
