'Son Of God' Film Cuts Satan Scene Due To Its Resemblance To President Barack Obama!

The "Son Of God" film will cut a few scenes, but one particular scene draws the attention of every one: the film's "Satan," played by Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni, bears a striking resemblance to President Barack Obama, stirring a huge controversy around the film.

"The Bible" producers have cast Satan out of "Son Of God," an individual familiar with the 20th Century Fox project told The Wrap.

Downey made a statement last Monday and said:

"Someone made a comment that the actor who played the devil vaguely resembled our president, and suddenly the media went nuts. The next day, when I was sure everyone would only be talking about Jesus, they were talking about Satan instead. For our movie, 'Son of God,' I wanted all of the focus to be on Jesus. I want his name to be on the lips of everyone who sees this movie, so we cast Satan out. It gives me great pleasure to tell you that the devil is on the cutting room floor."

"Son of God" is a reshaped version of last year's hit History Channel miniseries "The Bible," which stars Diogo Morgado as Jesus Christ, along with Downey as Mother Mary, Darwin Shaw as Peter and Greg Hicks as Pontius Pilate. Burnett and Downey came under fire last year because Ouazanni bears a striking resemblance to President Obama, though the producers said at the time that this was unintentional and merely coincidental.

Ouazanni played the Satan in the miniseries, which runs about 10 hours long. For the big screen, it is cut down to only two hours long. The removal is announced just days before the movie version gets a U.S. release on February 28 to avoid further controversies.
