The X Factor judge Simon Cowell finally speaks out about the alleged video of One Direction members Zayne Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking weed while they're going to their Peru concert which is currently going viral. Simon Cowell insisted to his interview with Digital Spy that the boys haven't "lost the plot."

Simon Cowell, who also happened to be the mentor of One Direction, defended the boyband and claimed that their work ethic and dedication to their fans never stop even after the video has been leaked.

According to him, "What I can say is that they're the hardest-working boys I've ever worked with... They still haven't changed. They're really respectful of their fans [and] they're a great British export... they've been a joy to work with. I've worked with a lot of artists in the past who do lose the plot, who do lose respect for their fans, they've never done that."

However, when Simon Cowell was asked about the advice he gave to One Direction members involved, he commented that it is already a "private matter," but he noted that he is always "on the phone all the time" with his artists.

As for the boys, Liam Payne had tweeted his statement last Sunday, June 1 regarding the incident despite not being involved in the video. While he did not directly defended his band or his bandmates Zayne and Louis, Liam did admitted informally that his friends may have gone a "little sideways" and he apologizes for the incident. He also opened up about the future of One Direction and expressed gratitude to their fans for all the success that they've achieved in music.
