On June 12, his management company FNC Entertainment stated, "Jung Yong Hwa will be starring as the lead male character Park Dal Hyang in the tvN drama 'The Three Musketeers."

Based on the French novel by Alexandre Dumas, the drama will be set during the Joseon dynasty, bringing it closer to the Korean audience.

In addition, it has been gaining attention for the 10 billion KRW (~$9.8 million) that has been invested for the production. The drama will be airing for three seasons, with each season having 12 episodes.

According to other news, joining Jung Yong Hwa in the drama are Lee Jin Wook, Yang Dong Geun, Seo Hyun Jin, Yoo In Young, Kim Sung Min, Park Young Kyu, and Jun No Min.

Jung Yong Hwa's character Park Dal Hyang is hailed from a poor family, and when he enters the military force, he meets the prince (Lee Jin Wook), and his fellow warrior guards. He will be in a love triangle with his first love Yoon Seo (Seo Hyun Jin) and the crown prince.

"The Three Musketeers" is another collaboration project between director Kim Byung Soo and writer Song Jae Jung, who make up the same team behind tvN dramas "Queen In Hyun's Man" and "Nine: Nine Time Travels".

The first episode is scheduled to premiere on August.
