JYJ's Park Yoochun has successfully completed a few dramas but he was still nervous about appearing in his first film "Sea Fog."

At the film press conference, the singer-actor talked about what it was like waiting for the film's release.

"The teaser was released recently and I felt so nervous when I realized that movies have this period of waiting until they premiere," said Park. "They are definitely different than dramas. It brings back memories when I watch the scenes."

In the film he plays Dong Shik, the youngest member of the crew on a ship that carries illegal Korean-Chinese immigrants. When the maritime police chase the ship, the captain tries to hide the immigrants in a tank. It's a dangerous place to hide and the immigrants can easily suffocate.

Dong Shik falls in love with one of the immigrants, Hong Mae, played by Han Ae Ri, and he defies his captain to save her from danger.

Director Bong Jun Ho praised the actor's efforts in the film, saying that the industry has found a good film actor. Park Yoochun has already proven he can succeed in a wide range of roles, having been in the comedy "Rooftop Prince," the melodrama "Missing You," the political action thriller "Three Days" and the fusion saeguk "Sungkyunkwan Scandal."

Actor Kim Yoon Suk played the part of the ship's captain Cheol Ju. He also had nothing but praise for Park. And he said that Park's good attitude might have something to do with the hardships that he endured during his childhood.

"He is not someone who grew up in a sheltered environment without knowing any hardships," said Kim. "He has a good attitude towards acting and working as a team.'

Kim thinks that Park has what it takes to have a long career.

"He will also improve more, as he gets older," said Kim. "But he says he will be joining the army soon. I think he will get even better once he returns from the army."

Kim and Park must have discussed Park's enlistment in the past.

"As soon as Kim Yoon Suk saw me in the waiting room today, he asked me if I still hadn't gone to the army and when I was going," said Park.

The members of JYJ plan to enlist later this year after releasing a new album. All Korean males between the ages of 18 and 35 must serve two years of military duty.

"Sea Fog" will premiere Aug. 13.
