Yes, there is Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2014
For the 2014 moviegoers who love scary or thriller movies, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the must-watched movies.
With the upcoming thriller film, fans will get to be scared again on the big screen forty years after its original release. To intensify the excitement, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre trailer for the restored horror movie hit the web this week.
According to Variety, since this 1974 horror classic movie celebrates its 40th birthday this year, MPI/Dark Sky Films are releasing a restored version to theaters.
Tobe Hooper is the director of the original classic movie helped with the restoration, which debuted at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March.
During the interview of Variety with the director, he stated:
“I haven’t seen ‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ on the bigscreen for many, many years,” said this to Variety last March.
He also added. “This 40th anniversary restoration is absolutely the best the film has ever looked. The color and clarity is spectacular, displaying visual details in the film that were never before perceptible.”
Hooper, co-writer Kim Henkel and Austin film students and even recent graduates Hooper shot with, garnered $30 million in its original release.
The popular Gunnar Hansen’s Leatherface would go down as one of the most iconic killers in horror history. The restoration includes a new 4k transfer for the original 16 mm prints.
