The 'Mmm Yeah' singer, however, denied the romance gossip with Cabello. He told reporters that he only posted the photo to see how his and Cabello's fans would react.

"We're just friends," he previously clarified to Sugarscape. "Yeah, it's pretty funny though. I remember we were hanging out and we took a picture. We were like, 'Let's just post this and watch everyone freak out.' It was pretty funny watching all the comments roll in."
