DC Movies Upcoming: 'I Would Not Want Them To Do What Marvel Does,' Says 'Avengers' Director Joss Whedon; 'Justice League' Movie Details Ahead!
DC has upcoming movies underway, in fact it has quite a handful of films planned for the next years until 2020.
And like the upcoming movies under the Marvel cinematic universe, majority of the projects remain unconfirmed and unnamed.
However, rumors are starting to spread that DC might take the route Marvel has taken in coming up with the 'Avengers.'
In an interview with 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con, he shared his thoughts on DC's approach to its films in contrast to Marvel's, saying:
"I think that both studios have kind of different agendas, different ways of approaching the superhero genre, and the ethos of the thing, and the esthetic. They go very dark and serious and sometimes it works amazingly, and Marvel tends to be a little lighter. Both have movies that I adore, and both have movies that I'm like... [pained expression]. Including bits of my own."
"I would not want them to do what Marvel does. I like what they do when they get it right. When you get a Heath Ledger, and Batman Begins, and those things that really grip you. That's something nobody else is doing, and I like it. I want them to do what they're doing."
Meanwhile, news broke that the reason why 'Batman V Superman' was delayed was because it will be used to kick-start the "Justice League" movie.
According to NikkiFinke.com, the latest DC movie will feature cameo appearances from several notable DC superheroes. As her source puts it:
"Like Marvel's The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie."
