After Black Widow's appearance in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' it looks like Marvel will also be giving the spotlight to another Avenger in the third sequel.

According to Collider, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye character will possibly be part of 'Captain America 3' which is slated for release on May 6, 2016.

"There are rumblings of 'Captain America 3,'" Renner told Collider himself, but immediately added, "I don't know what's going to happen there."

The second Captain America film was centred around S.H.I.E.L.D. and its agents and with the "rumblings" about Hawkeye in the next sequel, it seems that the storyline won't be let go entirely.

Collider reports that Cap's directors Joe and Anthony Russo are currently putting the finishing touches to the script, giving time for Marvel to focus its attention on its next project, 'Ant-Man.'

Renner himself has quite a busy schedule nowadays with his upcoming film, 'Kill The Messenger.'

The actor lamented his calendar, still unsure of how to shoot for the Cap sequel.

"I've got to find the time, man," he said while laughing. "I'm trying to stay home and I can't."

Out of the six Avengers, only Hawkeye and Black Widow don't have their own films.

However, there have been reports of future plans for Natasha Romanova's own story to be made into film. Should it push through, the Black Widow movie would be Marvel's first female-led superhero feature.

'Game Of Thrones' director, Neil Marshall, recently expressed his desire to take on the Black Widow movie. With his affinity for heroes with no superpowers, would he also be open to direct Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye?

Meanwhile, Renner will be indispensable up to next year. Aside from 'Kill The Messenger,' he has two more movies to work on.

"I still have 'Mission: Impossible 5' that I'm going to shoot in a week," he revealed to Collider. "And then, 'Bourne' will happen next summer."

Should Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye be in 'Captain America 3,' he will then have go into production again in 2015.
