According to reviews featured in Rotten Tomatoes, this flick is loaded with horror scenes that even included those that did not involve the lead - Dracula. It is said to be "genuinely creepy". Another analysis said, "The casting is right on target and the atmosphere fittingly eerie in director John Badham's suspenseful, handsomely-mounted 1979 version."   

"Dracula" full movie synopsis: A ship is destroyed and the lone survivor, Count Dracula, is found on the beach by Mina Van Helsing - young but unwell. She's there to visit her friend, Lucy Seward. The Seward family - Lucy and her fiancé Jonathan Harker and Dr. Jack Seward - receive him in their home in England with wide open arms.

Dracula eliminates Mina and tries to build a romance with Lucy. He plans to make her his bride. Soon as she died, the Sewards call Mina's father, Dr. Van Helsing, and tell him the bad news. In the process, they discover that the vampire who kills Mina is the count himself. All works together to make sure he won't be successful in his plan.

"Dracula" (1979) was filmed in 13 locations, including Cornwall, England, and United Kingdom. Cast includes Frank Langella (Count Dracula), Laurence Olivier (Prof. Abraham Van Helsing), Donald Pleasence (Dr. Jack Seward), Kate Nelligan (Lucy Seward), Trevor Eve (Jonathan Harker), and Jan Francis (Mina Van Helsing).

W.D. Richter penned the screenplay and John Badham directed the movie. Bram Stoker wrote the novel. Marvin Mirisch was the executive producer; Walter Mirisch was the producer, and Tom Pevsner was the associate producer. "Dracula" was released on DVD on Oct. 10, 2000.
